No, they're able to detect that the LED light has been covered and will refuse to record. There's users who have taken them apart to try to disable the LED but that's not something most users will do, is likely to break the glasses.
I live in China, and the only building I know that has more than six floors but no elevator is in Chongqing, because it has another walk-in entry in the middle. The vertical distance between the entry and the destination is still fewer than six floors.

Just thinking opposite direction: if you were to spawn a new planet with life somewhere in the universe, how would you do that? Micro manage every detail, or rather prepare proper conditions, and see what happens?
Wouldn't the "proper conditions" eventually look like series of coincidences?
If the electricity is free, efficiency does not matter that much. The capex of the storage system might matter a lot more. In which case, heating up a big mass might be more economically feasible than battery installations.
